Re: Caught unawares

@Yorkshire Andy Is there a hammer/window release on every window or just a designated emergency window? I think it varies across the train companies but I know most of the area 3 trains have emergency releases on all the doors so you can manually open the doors in the case of a power loss. I will t...

Re: Caught unawares

@JSurvive - there are a multitude of threads on here focusing on the scenario you mention and a bit of digging through this forum's EDC threads should have you formulating your own Every Day Carry items, based upon your own personal get-home, get-out-of-bad-situation needs. I would not be on a powe...

As someone who travels a lot I was trying to consider what I would do if a SHTF scenario began to unfold as I was away from home, for ins...

Re: Could a sailboat be the ultimate bugout vehicle...?

I have considered a boat as a bug out vehicle but it does hold heavy risks since the ocean is a dangerous place especially out in the open ocean.. And I would be concerned a boat would draw too much attention, if people from shore spot you it would be pretty apparent you are well prepared and they m...

Preparing for dental issues

After cracking a tooth and having to sort out a trip to the dentist I began to wonder if anyone prepares for dental issues in a SHTF scenario.. A trip to the dentist may no longer be viable but leaving a damaged tooth could lead to serious issues later on.. In my research I have seen a lot of natura...

I really enjoyed this book! Mandel is clearly a talented writer, I wouldn't say it gives much in terms of tips for survival so only read it for leisure!
