I only found your great site just over a week ago. It's really good to find a dedicated uk site as so many are US based.
I'm a bloke in my mid thirtes, live on the suburds of a major city in the North West and i am very new to prepping. But, it fits well with me view of the world and my approach to life. I came to it through my concern for the way the country and the world is currently being run and the serious dangers that seem to be looming on us - global economic collapse, peak oil, shift in balance of world power, risk of war, etc, oh and the forecasted large increase in solar flare activity for next year and the resulting large and potentially very damaging electromagnetic storms!
I have very few preps made and a lot to do. Life is hectic for me at the moment for a number of reasons but i need to start prioritising the making of my preps. I want to become much more self resilient/reliant. Uk-preppers looks like great site with a lot of helpful and friendly people, who know a lot. I am really pleased to have found you. It looks like you'll help make things easier.
In the spirit of trying to give something to the community here is another useful site some of you may already know - http://www.chrismartenson.com/ It is very economically focussed (which given the current situ, i think is quite right), but it also has a nice outline plan of the preps that people should make to be more resilient as well as a lot of other stuff. It's American, but very well reasearched with a sound basis.
Anyway, that's enough from me for now.
