This is my first post , in fact, I think this is the first forum I have ever joined!
I live in East Sussex out in the country and by the coast, and have recently become more interested in being ready and prepared generally, for whatever life may bring. I have the very basics in place, but know I have such a looooong way to go.
I'm particularly interested in learning new survival skills, and am also interested in the preparedness aspect of first aid in emergencies. I've attended basic first aid and resuscitation/defibrillation courses, but in a *htf scenario, I would like to be able to improvise and step up to the plate where necessary, and feel more confident in my ability to do this no matter what craziness may be going on for whatever reason, should normal medical routes be unavailable. I would also like to learn more about self defense, and avoidance, and the psychology of human behaviour in difficult situations.
I've been quite careful to not mention to all but a couple of people around me that I'm preparing for general 'whatever life brings' stuff, but one friend of nearly 20 years told me that she thought I was 'deluded'! I thought it would be so nice to be able to chat with like minded people who 'get it'.
Looking forward to being here
