Surely Post SHTF if you wanted access to somewhere that was locked you would find a way..... unleash the barbarian withing on a lock!

personally if i cant do it with my multitool or other few bits in my BOB i will improvise!

You would be supprised at the strength of some locks mate, look at it this way... They are designed to keep the barbarian out. You might need more than a multi tool and a boot

But most people seem to put a £100 lock on a 20 quid door

why carry all that all as you need is a glass smashing tool then your in if it comes to the point of taking a door off the hinges your more than likely not to be able to on a house i mean where as a shed usual a 8 lb axe can take off the cheep locks if not then the axe will take the door down

or as my friend just bluntly put it that's what a land rover 110 is for :P

lol, I just have a nice small set of Southord lock picks, three tubular picks and mortice lock try out keys.

I've spent time practicing with them too on locks I own/have bought.

Or hang a £1000 heavy security door next too a window with no security.

Though you may need to get into a garage, or past a chain link fence. The kit isn't solely for breaking in... Just getting to what you need

Lock picking is hard, and slow. Screwdriver will do the same job in seconds... But less ninja like

Most standard euro cylinders are shockingly easy to pick i managed to do one in about 30 seconds with a home made pick (from a hacksaw blade) and tension wrench from a ground down alen key...

lock bumping kit can be faster still but not as quiet

then there is the claw hammer big wood screw and screw driver technique...

I've found most commonly used locks can be opened in 30 seconds or less, locks that use dimple keys are hard to pick and a claw hammer and screw come in use.
