Access kit?

So I've been trying to sort out my many work tools into a keep pile and a sell pile. Then I was looking through the sell pile to see what may be useful post SHTF... Most of it was my old low quality tool that have been replaced with better stuff. But some was just stuff I've bought and used once. The tools that caught my attention were

wrecking bars (2 sizes)
Bolt cutters
Assorted wire cutters and snips
Sledge hammer


Was thinking that I'd keep these in a kit with a few other bits like pin snappers... An access kit... Post SHTF it may be necessary to gain entry to somewhere that is locked.

Anyone else keep such a kit?

Well I have bars , a sledge , a pick , wire cutters ,axes and saws in the van most of the time and a couple of bolt croppers and other similiar stuff in the workshop easy to hand. But , these are the tools of my trade and as such I've got a " legimate" reason to carry them. I might not have the same excuse if I was carrying them in my other halfs car, it may be looked at by plod as "Going equipped" .
Still generally an idea worth thinking about. You could also carry " spare keys" if you know the principal of lock bumping. One tool most could carry would be a spade, to dig themselves out of the snow but could easily be used as a lever to prise open doors or put a window through , post SHTF obviously.

Haha, wasn't planing on carrying this kit at all times. Just keeping it in the garage incase.

bolt cutters , sledge hammers , crow bars, fubars, chain saw, sthil saw , corded and cordless angle grinders and oxy cutting gear. will open pretty much anything .

rather worrying when you see how easy lock bumping works...... Lock snapping is even simpler,, and would get you into 95% of uk homes with a upvc door

Flat headed screwdriver bent to 90 degrees? Hammer in and twist? I know that as a pin snapper

I actually used to practice lock picking, could do my front door in 1 1/2 hours

MOE kit is usefull but be carefull keeping tools in the shed as they could be used to break into your house!
sujest you add a couple of welding rods and a hand operated masonary drill, would be handy for putting bars on windows post shtf whith no elec.
I looked at getting a van safe to keep tools safe in shed but they are not cheap
my next shed... maybee a good entrence to underground storage room

How would you weld or run a drill without elec?

Better to have the bars pre made and stored. The fixings could be pre drilled and then bolted in with hand tools or just use a hilti

Diesel powered welder , or use a genny to run welder , or gas weld , and to drill cordless or use genny , or depending on how old you are a rawplug tool , now thats showing my age .
