Anyhow, the two pantries are up to speed and in good order. Everything is dated ,and no unused rammel. I know a lot of folks here are ok with out of date cans etc. but 40+ years in the meat industry leaves this butcher careful for a reason.
Plenty of stored squashes for the pantry, along with spuds, kale and root veg in the garden. The animals are ticking over too. I’ve done well financially this year with my rabbits, which is good. The fowls are reducing egg laying as Winter moves in ,but there’s only me that eats them ,so that’ll be sufficient.
We have battery powered lighting all over ,ready for potential power cuts, but also to cut costs. It’s not a lot, granted, but the habits of lowered electricity use are good for what ( I think) is going to be a real issue as time moves along.
On the whole,we are now quite steady ,and aside from health issues my wife has, what’s happening in the world will go on and we’ll manage.
