My EDC

Post by JoshPreps »

Ok Guys, I'm new to the forum and to the 'prepping world'. I've had my edc and bob set up for only 5-6 months now but I just want to know if anyone had any suggestions to add to my edc.

To start with, I use a 2oz Tobacco Tin
Contents include:
Stickie Notes in the lid, stuck down with a bit of blue tac
Birthday Candle
Tin Foil
Sandwich bag (Using to gather water if need be)
Normal drinking straw (for the above)
Small piece of bandage
Signal Mirror
Small piece of Electrical Tape
Also not shown in the picture, small piece of Duct Tape
Sugar Sachet
Salt & Pepper Sachet
Coffee Sachet (Not shown in picture due to actually using it already)
Small Sewing Kit
Small Bic Lighter
Rennie Tablets
Allergy/Hayfever Relief (Damn you mother nature)
Paracetamol Tablets
2 Small Straws in which are filled with cotton balls with Petroleum Jelly on
Also not shown in picture is my flint and striker

Yes all of the above fits into the tin all snug, I normally carry either a pen or pencil to add to this. As well as a Gerber mini para-frame knife (not sure if uk legal though) in my wallet I have emergency numbers, water purification tablets, condom ( not just for getting lucky ;) ), 3 Antiseptic Wipes, Plasters

If that wasn't enough, my keys have a small LED torch on, bottle opener, a paracord keyring and also a large capsule filled with matches and a spare sim card with £10 on.

Not sure if it's too much but let me know your thoughts and any suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated!

Josh

*EDIT* I normally carry around my BOBBLE water bottle depending how long I think I'm going to be, if it's just to a shop or so then I won't bother too much!

Nice kit.

Please pop over to the welcome section and make an introductory post, telling us a little bit about yourself.

Many thanks.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

The EDC items in a tin is a pretty neat idea. I did something similar many years back in my kayaking days.
If the Gerber Paraframe Mini is a lock knife then I believe it's not legal to carry in the UK without good reason. And being a bit of a prepper is, I suspect, not a good enough reason! See https://www.gov.uk/find-out-if-i-can-bu ... ry-a-knife for (lots of) details.

Yeah it's a lock knife, I don't actually carry it all the time to be honest. I knew it might not be UK legal, cheers for that link much appreciated

I like the idea of all in a small tin, also the straws consisting of cotton wool with petroleum on them, :) Amazing it all fits in the tin.

Ace mate - looks like you've been Bear inspired like me. ;)

Mine is similar to yours, but not in a tin. That being said, Bear has a tin and so I've bought one from Home&Bargain the other day for 49p. So I'll be nicking some of your ideas. :D
