Yes I have one.

Its quite big and bulky compared with most fire steels and I don't really think it is any better than most other fire steels.

Probably get the big light my fire one then if there's not a lot of difference

I have several makes and sizes of Ferro rods, you might also look at one of these:

Great for one handed firelighting. :mrgreen:

Early this year I picked up a 'summit' brand fire steel and striker in the Range for £1.99 could buy 5 for the same price as the Gerber one.

Great website even found someone in the uk that stocks the gsi glacier mug that fits under a Nalgene bottle ....cheers

Has anyone tried using the flint/wheel from an empty cigarette lighter? Post-SHTF there should be plenty of those around.

I'll have a fiddle...
SHTF around 2017.

Yep, the BIC versions allow you to add a new flint too. :)
