Powdered Eggs and Milk

Post by popgoestheweasel »

Hi there,

I found this 'muscle building'! website that sell powdered whole milk and powdered eggs.

http://www.ironscience.co.uk/proteinpow ... tml#review

I notice the powdered whole milk is slightly cheaper comparatively to Nestle powdered whole milk.

I haven't tried them or know the shelf life as I only found it today.

But I thought both are always good standbys.

For your info......

From the website - http://www.ironscience.co.uk/proteinpow ... owder.html

Whole Egg Powder Nutrition

'Whole egg powder is easy to use, as it is simply mixed with water and shaken or blended. You can even use it in cooking, such as for baking cakes. One kilo of whole egg powder is equivalent to about 80-90 large eggs, so whole egg powder from IronScience.co.uk is exceptional value. In addition, as whole egg powder is pasteurised, it is perfectly safe as the risk of bacterial contamination is low, and whole egg powder doesn't require refrigeration and can last for months if stored correctly.'

Thanks for that always wondered where you get powdered eggs from, during and after the Second World War they were readily available.

Powdered eggs have occured to me too, but have not managed to find any, so thanks. Remember an aunt in Skye using something called water glass to store eggs in a metal bucket, but can't recall the details anyone know the ins and outs of this? W ish I'd asked more when I was younger, she was the original type of self-sufficenty/prepper even though she didn't know it, she was just living her life as she always had, so much knowledge lost :(

Izzy, Here you go

The material is properly known as 'Sodium silicate', not hugely expensive and might have a lot of prep uses
