Hello and Greetings from the Midlands

Post by Nat Silver »

Hi, i'm new - of sorts. Been avidly watching and researching for some time now. UK Preppers 'movement' appears to be gathering pace and momentum.

Weather Report:

It's snowing here now. Been snowing since Friday. 6 inches now approaching 7. Weather showing no signs of stopping. Expected to drop into the minus region tomorrow (Monday). Black ice will be treacherous, as always so do be careful on those roads (and pavements). Been caught out a couple of times now.

Regards

So, tell us a bit more about yourself.

What are you prepping for? What bought you here to this forum?
Thanks :D

Welcome.

Hello. Welcome to UKP.

I got stuck in the West Midlands a couple of years ago due to snow. I was visiting a girlfriend out there (now ex), meant I had to miss work. Gutted! It does get hit hard there, the roads were bad.

Ace. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome. Much appreciated.

Apart from the impending armageddon, collatteral damage and doom and gloom im preparing for self-sustainability first and foremost. As i'm sure many would agree, self-preservation is key. You have to help yourself first before you can even consider think about helping others. I know this sounds slightly selfish but its a basic principle as used in survival scenarios.

The reality of the world self-imploding is marginally farfetched, maybe one day, but certainly not in our lifetime. However, the reality of a global credit crisis, food prices shooting throught the roof, contaminated water supply, electricity shortage - fridge and freezers soon become obsolete - food goes to waste leading to famine. Followed by a run on the banks, devaluing currency - geo-political instability over major shipping routes - around the Suez Canal. It's happening right now - a struggle, fight over control to keep it open. Just look at Egypt, Libya, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Iran - all within that territory. Saudi Arabia and Somalia on the approach. It's not going to happen any time soon, but slowly escalating. 2015 i predict. So there is still plenty of time to prepare. This will occur when 'coalition forces' 'withdraw' from Afghanistan - but will only 'shift' to Iran. I kid you not.

I'm not quite a 'Doomsday' character but protecting the people i love and care about is my priority.

Hopefully something i can have the pleasure of sharing with all of you sometime in the near and foreseeable, but not too distant future.

Regards
