survival blankes

A friend of mine has asked me a question about the foil survival blankets. I thought they are all the same but apparently not.
He wants to make a liner for some motorcycle gloves out of one and wants to find a strong but thin pair. that he can sew without them ripping too much.

alternately does anyone know of an already manufactured product that is better than the usual thermal gloves/ liners
