Hello from darkest Dorset

Post by rivercottagewarrior »

Hello Everybody,

I'm Pete and I'm new to all this. 7 days ago I had never heard of prepping then I read an article in that left wing rag, the Daily Mail, about prepping and people who prep and a light-bulb came on in my head. I started to research and google led me here and I'm hoping to learn a lot (and quickly).

In terms of prepping skills I'm sadly lacking. I'm an accountant by trade and training (So if anyone needs a post apocalyptic trial balance drawing up then I'm your man) and grow a few tomato's and spuds in the back garden so gaining knowledge and skills are my key drivers. In the unlikely event that I can contribute something useful, I will not hesitate.

Regarding my moniker, I have no connection to the River Cottage organisation save living near Bridport and having lunch at the River Cottage canteen a couple of days a week.

Glad to be here.

Pete

Hi Pete, welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty to read and digest but whatever happens DON'T PANIC!!!!!!!!!
If there's anything you want to know and can't find then ask and someone will point you in the right direction.
Just by having that 'lightbulb' moment is a big step forward. :D

You know what Hugh Fearnley-Whittingwhatshisname should really be called? Hugh Fearlessley-Eatitall. I'm not squeamish, but some of the stuff he eats makes me want to hurl!

Oh and hello, I am new too ;)
