Hi from the Wirral

Post by manfromupton »

Hi everyone, the names Tom, 42 and have 3 girls and one grown up lad. Stumbled onto this prepping thing a few months back from watching all sorts of stuff on youtube, topics ranging from Alex Jones to Sean"Shug"Emery(hammocks). I thought it made good sense to store a lot more food after the other year when we had snow and the bread shelves where stripped bare at the local Sainsbury's. Started buying lots of tinned goods and dried packet stuff and have filled the cupboards, received funny looks and questions along the lines of "do you own a shop/run a stall/cafe". Always looking for bargains and would love to have chickens. Girlfriend things I'm losing it but one of my brothers is on board with the line of thinking and that's all that matter's. That's as far as it's reached at the moment so I thought I ought to look into it a lot more and see if there was anything more I can do/pickup/learn from established UK preppers. Is this too much or should I just of said Hi? lol

Good intro. Its what I should have written less the children part which we don't have. My wife is slowly coming around to idea of being prepared and I have one brother who is of the same mindset as me and another who is starting to think. Bit by bit I'm helping the family agree with me  ....although I have to be careful not to send our parents into a suicide pact. I impressed my wife by preparing an emergency box for her car. It included some food and most importantly girlie things for the 'time of the month' - she was impressed. Try the same thing it might help to get your girlfriend on board.
