Freecycle

Probably some of you already know this but it´s a worldwide organisation that recycles free goods. People can offer or ask for things they need. All items should be given without financial compensation.

They also have groups in the UK so perhaps it can be of use to you.
I once gave away a caravan on our local variety of Freecycle and got many good things in return.

I hate it when good things end up as landfill and you can save a bundle using this or get rid of surplus things yourself.

And a score already! One woman offered a Twinny Load. One of those contraptions that you can place on the towball of your car and it holds two bicycles. Picking the thing up wednesday, free gratis.
I'll bring her a jar of homemade jam or something in return as courtesy. It means I'll be able to take my bicycle with me to the BOL or for a bug out. Makes quite a difference.

I love Freecycle, got rid of a few things on there. Once got a bunch of flowers in exchange for my old bicycle, and an offer of free horse riding lessons for a computer desk
