Re: What is a GHB ?
A 'Get Home Bag' (Groups do like jargon to keep out tyros don't they? our failing)
Enough kit with you, say at work, to get you home when there are problems, snow, strike, heel broken off your shoe, having been mugged. etc.
I find a couple of £20 notes, no one wants £50 notes, hidden on the body has always solved my problems (when travelling abroad a couple of Scots £100 notes work wonders, accepted everywhere, foreigners love the Scottish.) allowing me to book into a B&B, take a taxi or buy a meal.
I note that a new £50 note will be out soon, I wonder if it will be more acceptable on the high street?

Re: What is a GHB ?
I'm with Ian on this...normally I carry £50 - £100 (well hidden!) depending on how far from home I am.
If, however, I am far from home, I take the whole works!

Re: What is a GHB ?
trouble is, if someone is not in a city or large town then B&B's, Hotel's and Taxi's may be in short supply, thats where carrying your own supplies in a back pack will more than pay for its cost.

I thought it was like actual bodily harm so thanks for sorting that out for me.

I like to carry US $500 with me twenty dollars in one dollar note too, great for tipping with. the rest in tens and twentys. Acouple of hundred in Euros too doesnt go a miss either.hobo wrote:I'm with Ian on this...normally I carry £50 - £100 (well hidden!) depending on how far from home I am.

Re: What is a GHB ?
A bit of money always helps as you might need to spend a night in a B&B, but my GHB also sits in the car and contains enough kit to help if i am stranded somewhere without any obvious help. Whether that is just for a few hours in a traffic jam or having to walk 50 miles home. I base the contents on how far I might be from home or help etc, food, water, shelter, clothing...that sort of thing

IIRC we are never more than about 8 miles from civilisation of one sort or another, just have to know which direction to travel in.

No doubt a bit of cash, a credit card, and RAC membership is all you need for 99% of your needs......but i like to prepare for the other 1% as well.
Each to their own though
