CRISIS!

Post by jansman »

Eldest Daughters boyfriend has had pneumonia. He hasn't worked in 20 days.He works for an agency-so no work, no money. He's back now but there'll be no cash for another 10 days, and to be blunt he's on the bare bone of His arse.
He's a good lad, hardworker. He does like to be independent, though he can't afford to be !Turns out he hasn't eaten properly for a couple of days!

Well my Wife went ballistic !The average day here is like the Waltons, and Jan will not let food shortage happen. So we put a couple of bags together from the freezers and pantry. He's well sorted now.

My point here is that this is prepping at it's best,it's why we do it!
I told the boyfriend he's one of our Tribe now,and we look after our own.

It's been a bit of a ramble, sorry, but I am so proud that we are in a strong position resource-wise .That pantry of food you are all working on is as good as cash in the bank,if not better!

Great story.
It strikes me that it is easier to prepare for something that we know is going to happen (EG., camping holiday), but when we are being general "preppers" we don't know what we are preparing for, its all harder, and all we can do is to try and see how we go and if we can get some good out of it, great, and if not then not I guess.

I have just bought another bottle of olive oil for the olive oil lamps. If I don't need it for the lamps, I will have to bloomin' well use it to cook with....

it might be a good time to bring up the subject of him putting a bit by for when the next time he has a crisis.
even if its only a couple of tins a week. ;)

Well he's got to get well first, and then get a job. Let the lad get back on his feet.

Oh he's got his rent,c/tax,fuel covered. He's just plain run out of resources.
Don't worry ,my Daughter will make sure he puts grub by.When he's back on his feet.

Nothing to be ashamed of. There's only so far money will go, and it's not far at all these days. Hope he gets well soon.

It's Mother in Law that runs this house! As I sit here my lovely Wife is saying that this is a situation that he should not be in.In fact ,she's drawing up a shopping list for the morning!

This really is a call to prepare .Even a weeks worth of food will keep us off the wire.
