Delicous hot apple dessert in 5 minutes

Post by Frnc »

Cut an apple (Granny Smiths are good) in quarters and cut out the core.
Chop into bite sized pieces.
Sprinkle with sugar, stevia granules, erithrytol or similar.
Drizzle some vanilla extract on, it's not cheap, but you don't need much just a few ml.
Cinnamon powder - sprinkle on.
Lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
I also added a few drops of stevia, vanilla flavour because ... why not?

Microwave on full heat for a minute or so until warm/hot.

Separately, in a bowl, microwave some cottage cheese on low heat until warm. I used low fat.

Chuck the apple in and stir.

Tastes like apple crumble. Low calories and pretty cheap. Cottage cheese with sweetners is not a combination I would have thought of, but it's fantastic!

I was a bit sceptical, I don't eat cottage cheese normally, let alone with sweetners, which sounds just wrong, but think vanilla cheesecake and apple crumble/pie mixed together, without the crumble/biscuit/pastry.

Apparently you can add a few drops of food grade white vinegar or distilled malt vinegar instead of the lemon. As it happens, I bought some the other day for cleaning. I meant to buy white, but got distilled. They are different, but do almost the same job, I believe.
