I ripped most of the nail off one of my toes at the weekend and could hardly wear a shoe as it was too painfull. Yesterday I remembered I had bought 3 pairs of Karrimor socks from Sports Direct (who own Karrimor). I cant remember if they were the "work" socks or the "trek" socks but they have padding around the toes and heels
They have got to be the comfiest socks I have ever worn and the padding around the toes mean I can walk normally instead of hobbling. They are well worth the investment if you may have to walk anywhere in a crisis. The Sports Direct Shops were selling them for £2.99 a pair but I think the retail price is £9.99
I know socks aren't sexy but if your feet are screwed in a crisis due to blisters or injury then you are most likely screwed as well, a decent pair of walking boots/shoes and some good walking socks will be invaluable
