Focaccia (Italian bread)

Post by metatron »

Its much faster then baking normal bread but still tastes great. This makes a lot of bread but it last quite well.

1100g strong white flower
15g dry yeast
10g salt
600ml warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil

1. Stick it all in a large bowl and mix together with your hands floured until its comes together.
2. Take it out and put it on a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes. It will stop being sticky after a little while.
3. Put back in the bowl and cover with a plastic bag and put aside somewhere warm for about 40 minutes.
4. Place on an oiled baking tray and spread it out with oiled hands (the bread should have a light coating of olive oil)
5. Use your fingers to put intents all over the bread and sprinkle some dried or fresh herbs over the top.
6. Heat the oven to its hottest temperature and stick the bread in the oven for about 10 minutes until brown, then turn the heat down to a mid heat for another five minutes.
7. Slice up and eat.

The end result looks like:

You can also put rosemary in it - gorgeous!
