Boys bedroom/prepper storage.

Post by bettersafethansorry »

So this is my plan. My son as many boys is well in to his toy guns and army, so the fact we are limited on space my idea is the following.

I am creating him a military themed room with some practical things on display such as ammo tins, camo nets, gas masks and water carriers etc finished with some miltary toys and accessories, round 2 walls in his room i am building a storage unit this will be approx adult waist height and come away from the wall by about 2 ft. this will be what he has his toys and telle and xbox ect on, I will create these to look like military ammo crates/giant footlockers with hinged tops and padlocks on all.

As you can gues this large space will now store all my prep gear. separated in to types/sections and holding everything except dangerous items and offensive weapons i have these safe and separate.

Will post some plan images up soon and of course when this is completed i will post pictures of the finished project.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas.

M

Sounds great. I would of loved something like that when I was growing up. :)
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

:o Okay, two questions
- what does his mother/your wife think?
- is it lockable? Its in his room, after all, he's bound to want to go in there, and he's bound to want to show his friends when they play there! (and I understand you've taken care of the dangerous stuff issue, but like in that Blackout tv programme recently, lack of OpSec can present dangers too!).

Amazing 8-)

Notes: The unit opens from above like a chest. High Grade Pad locks on all chest storage as well as sand bags on top. everything else will be his to use and play with.
Sandbags will be fixed in place with supports throughout, (earthquake wouldnt move them.)
everything else is for him to use and show his friends. as far as he will be aware daddy just made him and army room. and will not know whats stored within the unit. .

Mrs loves the idea.... but ive been roped in to designing and making princess room for the girls now too.

You can design my room any day.

I would've been chuffed with that as a kid.

Scrap that I'd be chuffed with it now.
