What do you want for xmas??

Post by gooner677 »

I think we know when prepping is on our minds when the other half says 'have you any idea what you want for xmas' and without giving it a thought you reply 'food dehydrator please'!

Anyone else got a prepping item on their wish list??

World Peace ;)

Purely for selfish reasons as my preps aren't completed yet

Seriously though, probably more wood/anthracite or another shed to put it in. :)
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

We always freeze veg (home gown) but ALWAYS run out of space and I'd like to try some alternative methods of food preservation. So- just out of interest, does anyone have a recommendation re Food Dehydrator?

Hi there,

Food dehydrators can be quite expensive.

This link is an article titled 'All you need to know about dehydrators' - http://www.fresh-network.com/acatalog/a ... ators.html

This link is to UK juicers - they have quite expensive food dehydrators - http://www.ukjuicers.com/dehydrators

This link is to amazon dehydrators - http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/food%20dehydrator/products

And this link is to Lakeland food dehydrator - more reasonable price comparatively and reviews ok - http://www.lakeland.co.uk/14210/My-Kitc ... Dehydrator

This link is an article in the daily mail a few weeks ago where the Lakeland food dehydrator was tested - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/food/ ... nacks.html

Here is a short video of Lakeland food dehydrator - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/femail ... index.html

Hope that helps.

There are a few dehydrators on Amazon and elsewhere for about £40 (inc delivery). They have good reviews, so gonna try one of those.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shef-Dehydrator ... dehydrator

for example.
