Hello from Dorset

Post by ArethusaF38 »

Hi all, well here's a little about me. I'm 49, and having once been a bit of an establishment sort of chap (ex-military, City) have become increasingly disillusioned with the status quo, and really started to re-think my take on life. To my surprise I find that I'm probably an 'anarcho-capitalist'! I enjoy investing, but given the massive fraud, rigged markets and the inevitable collapse of Western economies take a more contrarian view, investing in gold and silver, Bitcoin, and playing the forex markets (while currencies still exist).

I am trying to remove myself from the grid as much as possible, and live out of a campervan. I'm hoping to buy a small yacht in the near future with a view to having the sea/coastline as my 'bug out' place. Sounds grand but it will only be a cheap one - I now work as a security guard - very stress free, but long, unsociable hours and not particularly well paid.

I enjoy the outdoors and hunting small game, vermin etc. with a hunting air-rifle. Next for the armoury is probably a crossbow.

I have quite a bit of first response/first aid training, and am always happy to learn new skills and update my knowledge. I think we all need to learn as many survival skills as we can in order that we can look after ourselves - and each other - come the great Zombie Apocalypse.

Are there any other preppers here from the Dorset area that would be interested in doing a bit of 'survival' camping?

Anyway, hope that wasn't too boring. I'm fairly new to this so I'm always open to advice, corrections or information. I look forward to meeting fellow preppers :)
