Other halves panic bag/GHB/Grab bag

Post by Maddosammo »

Oh yeah. What I'm going to put in security wise. Personal alarm 2 types. That defence spray and a memory card and address book. But that's all. Need ideas for the rest. I like the ideas you've out forward and probably will use.

I would suggest tampons, dual use item fire lighting and its designed use.

Some spare cash sewn into the lining so it can only be used in an emergency.

Spare glasses if needed.

Map of local area.

Train/bus timetables.

Might be worth reminding her about 0800reverse in case of needing to use a phone box should she lose her mobile phone

Old pic of the boy-scout kit
Top left, clear plastic pencil case that holds it all
Directly below, pen-sized insect repellent, pen-sized alcohol hand sanitiser, a zinc stick SPF30 (works like a prit-stick), spare lighter, plasters (in small zip-lock) and a pencil
Centre, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Imodium, Prescription meds (all in blister packs, Coppers hate loose tablets in little bags)
Centre top, 12 feet of toilet roll folded flat and most of the air squeezed out of the zip-lock bag (this should be enough to last until the Imodium starts working  ), to the right of that spare fag papers (again zip-locked)
Below those, cut-down pen tube containing sewing needles and a machine bobbin full of black B-50 Dacron (a waxed thread used for making bowstrings with a breaking strain of 50lbs, I use it as a repair thread as well).
Below those, card wrap of gaffer tape (about 30 feet) and a second card with other tape on it (since used up), pen (click-out ball-point)
Right from the top, Plastic mirror (in another zip-lock...Who knows, I might need a couple of extras some day), below that 1/2 oz of salt in a glass jar with a cork and last (but not least) a mini Sharpie marker pen.

Heres part of my EDC showing the B-S K packed

Biggest problem for students is becoming a robbery/burglary victim. Make sure any tracking apps on her phone and laptop are set up and get the serial numbers written somewhere she can access it.

Put some ICE numbers in her phone

Check to see if there are and student zones in the area

This link should have a load of advice on it.

Thank you for your contribution but am a step ahead of you already done that. And am adding some safe type things as an addition present. One looks like a book. And also a door wedge alarm. For her money and stuff to be hid in plain sight and also some security when she is in her room (more for second year when she's house sharing) alone.

I bet I'm sounding like the over protective boyfriend.

You sound like a loving boyfriend who cares about his girlfriend. Keep that up..... Young men today need to know how to treat women and I don't care who slags me off for saying it but I love being looked after by my fella :D
