Which watch to get

Everyday use I have a gshock tough solar/wave ceptor. It charges itself and automatically updates the time 4 times a day so it's always accurate, what more could you need.

I have my Grandmothers wind up watch, which needs a service. I don't wear it though. I haven't worn a watch in years. I go to sleep when I'm tired and wake up when I'm not. I eat when I'm hungry and can, usually, tell roughly what time it is when I look at where the sun is. I love that I make my own hours, work to my own schedule and only have to be somewhere at a particular time if I have an appointment.

I've just bought myself another Casio gshock. They are great watches, the resin case and mineral glass makes them bomb proof!. Oh and mine tells me the moon phase and tide

I never realised Victorinox made watches, they look pretty decent too.

Personally I used to wear a watch but in my line of work everything is very hands on and working with heavy items, I ended up cracking it, spliting the links and quickly got bored of taking it to the jewelers to get repaired. My thoughts now are a good quality pocket watch, a bit old fashioned perhaps, but that way its not as likely to get damaged if its in your bag.

Allthough I do have nicer ones I use an el cheapo digital, like AWR I got used to wearing something practical and expendable at work, my all singing altimeter- barometer- thermometer one's strap pin hole has broken away so it's in a drawer, I have a couple of sieko's (gifts) for more dressed up occasions, I don't wear them around the house any more, but still don't feel dressed without one when I go out, same goes for the phone, though I'm no mobile addict that only gets used for staying in touch with wife and kids, I hate texting, though I do accept the practicallity of them when a message requiring no urgent attention or reply is concerned.

Automatic watches is my suggestion. Proper dials with no batteries. That way the watch can also be used for navigation should the need arise, and will not die suddenly from power outage

I requested this for Christmas and Santa agree that I had been good boy and delivered it Christmas morning.
It is solar powered and even if it gets no sunlight it will work for 9 months if it was fully charged.
Day date and month are shown all the time and it has world times.
Very comfy watch.
My philosophy is this, if you can't be on time, be early.

I used to always have a watch on, but about 10 years ago i just stopped wearing one, not sure why?

So recently i have been looking for what i like, i like 70's watches, what are normaly called 'jump hour' or anologue digital, but with the prepping way of thinking making me look at it differently my thoughts have changed.

So i like 70s stuff, so originaly looked at 70's automatic watches, there are alot of good timex ones, i also have been looking at military stuff.

There are some lovely 'shockproof' style watches about, but i have gone for a MWC G10BH, most G10 's ive looked at are out of my price range at the minute, but i have found these that may need some fixing, but all in all are unused and in a black non reflective case.

They are on the Bay if interested, but i recon 40 month battery life and as bomb proof as you can ask is good enough for me, i'll let you know?
