Re: Reverse Osmosis
So does it require power for pumps etc , or will it just work with pressure differences, will it remove all contamination.?

Re: Reverse Osmosis
You can get ands pumps. Be warned though takes a hell of a lot of energy to get just a little bit of fresh water.
It should remove some if not most contaminants. What types of contaminants Are you thinking of ?

Re: Reverse Osmosis
RO water purification uses electricity and semi permiable filters to to remove contaminants. (can be done without the electricity but not as efective)
think of the army NBC WPU trailer at hospitals
simple explanation gortex jacket and a bug zapper but on a smaller scale, atomic scale (i know hugely simplified)
or gassious exchange in the body.
The RO tubes/filters work on attracting and concentration rather than diluting and balancing
if you have a good set you can take polluted salt water and make it drinkable.

It is mostly used on ships and the such to create potable water.
