Hello from South Yorkshire

Hi, I'm from South Yorkshire and been reading the excellent post on the forum for the last few nights and thought that I really aught to say hello.

After thinking about it for too long, I only began my initial prepping a few months ago. Really, I've been playing at it, but now I see the serious need to sort out a better way than the dump it in the cupboard mentality I've had. The kitchen cupboards are brimming and I have so much more to do.

My husband is not really onboard, although he's just letting me get on with and has a laugh now and again when I put extra in the shopping trolley... Although he was glad of the prepping when we didn't have to go to the shop once during the whole time of the bad weather.

I have a few questions, but will look around the board for the correct category to put them in.

Many of us either have, or have had similar issues with our better/other halves! Hope you find all that you're looking for here

Hi Damkina, welcome to the site. Like Scoobie said I think many of us started out with their partners thinking it was "just another phase" etc. I'm sure if you take things slowly that your OH will gradually come on board....they just might not admit to it

Hi! Thank you for a warm welcome.

I did get one small concession from him yesterday, in that he says he understands why I've prepped during winter, but he just can't see why we need so much. I don't think he realised that this is just the start of it.

Our son has not said a negative word about it, and has offered to help me with putting together an emergency bag. He's also offered to go through our meagre camping stuff to see what needs doing and purchasing.

Welcome! More Yorkshire preppers! Maybe we should think of a name change! LOL!
