Hey guys

Post by Harley69 »

Hey guys
I'm new here, never really considered prepping as a actual thing (though it has always been in my personality to basically prep) but then after watching the tv show you are all probably sick of hearing about the wife has also thought it would be a good idea, so all my idea's have now came into play.
I am a Biomedical scientist so can help you folks out with different diseases, pathogens and cure's etc
I love shooting my air rifles and hunting, I do rifle tuning customisation as a hobby so if anyone has any air rifle related questions feel free to ask me, i'm always happy to help and have quite a bit of knowledge in the area.
I have always been a sort of prepper since I was young and was in the scouts, so these days I always seem to have various medical items and multitools on me.
I don't believe in any sudden disasters happening or the 2012 myan calendar end of the world prophecy, but I do believe in slow moving disasters, global warming leading to sea levels rising, increased humidity and temp across Europe allows mosquito's carrying malaria to breed across Europe etc causing mass disease. Global economy crashes due to massive debt leading to riots and eventual collapse of the government. But I also prep for smaller things, like heavy snowfall throughout the UK which cuts off electricity and traps people in there houses, it has happened the last few winters in the highlands and the winters are getting worse, so simple things like a store of food, and alternative heating and light options.
I'm a friendly guy and always happy to help :D

Welcome from a newbie. Sounds like you have a good skill set.
What part of the country are you from?

Prior Preparation and Planning Prevents Pi55 Poor Performance.
Two is one, one is none.
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Thanks, I have a decent set of skills, but I am near useless with electronics, but I am good at gardening and woodwork aswell, mainly because I like to work with my hands, and my parents have there own vegetable patches in the garden, never raised animals for food though only pets so I think I will look into getting chickens for eggs at some point in the future.

I'm from north east england, tyne & Wear.

Nice intro Harley welcome aboard, it's good when you can get an idea of a person from the first post.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
