Hello from Cheshire

Post by Cheshire Prepper »

Good afternoon fellow Preppers

I'm a recent convert to prepping and looking to make contact with fellow preppers in the North West.
In a short space of time I have organised food, shelter, a generator, transport, weaponry, and a bug out location which I feel would suit my ever need.

Not sure how many others there are in Cheshire but me and a couple of friends are taking this seeriously. I'm glad I have found this site to share tips and get some advice from some more experienced preppers.

My mates and wife think i'm barmy but recent events have given me the impetous to get things in order so that as and when it does all kick off, i'll be ready. My garage is now a prepping zone and my Nissan Filthfinder is ready to go at a few minutes notice.

How often do any of you lot do a practice run? I know half the people on that US programme seemed like nut jobs but in all seriousness people need to start listening. My wife has dismissed it as nonsense so I've already told her she'll be getting left in dust of the Filthfinder.

A few things that I would like answering......

What sort of time scale do people look at getting home and out of there in? From work it takes me 7 minutes to walk home, then turn around in a few more, probably 15 minutes max til am on the road. Is this a reasonable time?

What would the police say to finding several large bladed knives, a crossbow and several ounces of prescription veterinary ketamin in my bug out bag if they stumbled upon it prior to the SHTF?

What is the most probable cause that people think will cause us having to bug-out (or in)?

Hoping to make a few new contacts on here. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi and welcome to the mad house  takes me legally 40mins to get home a lot lot quicker illegally and I know all the back roads home as well. I wouldn't be carrying knifes in the car as that might get you into trouble you might get away with carrying one but not several. The crossbow you might get away with if you could prove that you were going target practics but again I would not leave it in the car as someone might break into the car and steal your knifes and bows, I'd addvise leaving them in a sucure place at home.

We all have differing views on bugging in or bugging out. Many of our members plan to bug in so we would find it hard to answer your first question.

I would be very careful what you carry/store in your car. You would need to have a very good explanation as to why you have them if you are stopped by the police, as junmist said.

There are many reasons why people are prepping.
