Loose Lips Sink Ships !!

How are you preparing

I think the behaviour of some people this winter just showed how unprepared people are, but don't seem to learn from their mistakes. There was a woman who went travelling on a train in December, and later took part in a phone-in on the BBC complaining that the train had been stuck, and no one had food, torches, or foil blanket. She insisted that the train company "should have been more prepared". I don't know what is wrong with this woman that she can't seem to work out that it is her duty to be prepared.

So in a SHTF situation, if you have food in a 72-hour Go Bag, and this woman saw you, would she think she was entitled to her "fair share" of what isn't hers? I think she would.

"Walls have ears"! keep stum, tell no one you are prepping, giving someone advise is one thing but don't let them know you have preps, no one knows about mine & thats the way it will stay!

Hope your feeling better Lil, I have found over the years that it can be the likes of the biker or the gangster that might be up to no good and be tagged as not nice that's would surprisingly be the one that would help you out before your seemingly oh so decent next door neighbour, there is a code of ethics still among some, they might go rob a bank or even take a life but would help an old lady across the street, not like some of the little gits running round the streets that would kick the old girl and nick her bag.
The biggest mistake I made since becoming a prepper was telling one of my neighbours about it, even tho she is a mate and would be by my side in a flash if I was in trouble here, I still wish I had kept my mouth shut, feeding her and family I would do, but she has brothers and sisters and a mum and dad and friends she would not want to let starve, so could I trust her if the SHTF ? I don't think so, we haven't spoken about again since the first time I mentioned it, but if it ever comes up again I will tell her my storing food didn't last long I needed my money for other things and it was a silly idea, only my mum and son and city girl who is like my family know what I'm doing, my 12 year old knows not to mention it to anyone.

You're right there magz. Never ever judge people until you get to know them eh ! My eldest son is a tattoo artist and biker, works in security and is a black belt in karate. But he's also the kindest person I know and he often makes me feel ashamed of myself - if I'm in Edinburgh and move away from a drunk or a beggar on the street, he'll says "mum, he's somebody's son too, or dad, or brother. He's got a right to a life " - and I'll feel bad  He paints murals for kids and will help anybody if he can.
My other son is a self employed tradesman, respectable and posh, with a yuppy high maintenance wife and two homes. He has been to see me 3 times in a year, never once did any work for us in the house or garden even when we were struggling & never phones us. There you go

I like tattoos I have 5 but I like them to be different, the one I love the best is on my ring finger its a vine with 2 flowers runs the length of my finger I had it done the day after I got married, it hurt so much I thought I might pass out, was sweating and deep breathing lol, the guy wanted to stop but I wouldn't let him, he said he didn't usually do fingers but as it was so pretty and the day after my wedding he agreed to do it, I have a match to it running up my left calf, a rose on my right arm , old skool 89 between my shoulders ( it's to do with music) and the first one I ever had done at 19 is on my bum cheek lol was thinking of having made in England around my belly button but if I do it will be my last, but I think I'd rather spend my money on my preps ;)

from Morcombe and Wise " I remember the first time I saw Magz, flat on her back on the dancehall floor"

And as for Max, " He is a real gent, always holds open the door to the bar so the women can get to the bar first and pay for the beer"
