this will probably sound like a stupid question but can wet food be preserved in mylar bags too , i know people are going to say can them instead but wouldnt they last longer preserved like this ??

I personally haven't seen wet food being stored in mylar. I would always go down the canning route for wet food.

just thought it might be easier and take up less storage space

From what I understand, I don’t think it would end well,
A large part of the canning process involves using heat to kill bacteria and create pressure in the jar which would be pretty much impossible to replicate with a Mylar bag.
