My mum is the one who got me started. She is of the opinion that every family should be self sufficient as far as possible. And I grew up used to having a "Just In Case" cupboard. We always had food and warmth. Much to the gratitude of neighbours who she also helped out in power cuts!
Things I do/done:
We've moved to a house with an open fire.
Changed the garden to an allotment. (easier said than done)
Food and water storage for my family for a set period. (Rotation based)
And much to the amusement of my family, we have access to a rural shelter to be used in the event of ......
I have become use to the idea of being thought of as a little eccentric in my prepperations. But just lately the tide has changed, more family and friends seem a little curious as to how to store food, generate power and so on.
And now I've found all of you and your tips
