I'm new here.

Post by SwimLikeaFish »

Hi all,

I am new to prepping and have always wondered if TSHTF how am I going to get by. I used to imagine being able to afford a fully stocked fortified bunker somewhere able to withstand a full on nuclear or biological holocaust. However, being close to minimum wage doesn't even entertain that idea. Being very close to London Heathrow, living off the land is not possible. In the event of TSHTF and everyones trying to get out of London the M25, M4, M3, M40, M23 could be grid locked like a Bank Holiday Friday afternoon but 100 times worse. Maybe better to Bug In.

Anyway Now Ive found out about prepping, the more I read I realise I can actually do something so here I am. Intitially I will start with a months basic supplies and then build it up. I hope I can find lots of information, ideas and tips from this website, if anyone could point me towards good links and articles to get me started would be much appreciated. thanks.

For food storage our mantra is

Store what you eat, and eat what you store!!

For anything else don't be afraid to ask and someone will point you in the right direction. :D

Move north. Plenty of minimum wage jobs here but more room to breathe (and grow stuff) :)
My starting point (way back when) was 3 days supply of food.
Spend some time trawling the site n you'll learn lots.
Oh, and WELCOME!

Hi , Being close to the minimum wage isnt as crutial as your location to a major airport - These are prime targets in the event of a Nuclear weapons strike against any country .The move from the large single warhead missiles to the MIRVS ( Multi Independant Re-entry Vehicles ) or iff you like smaller weapons of mass destruction .Means that ALL and Every location of use to the military would be hit .A bunker just isnt any good if your within 5 miles of anything of strategic importance .But the likely hood of this happening is small at the present time , Living at the low level around London , i would be more concerned about the flood risk .And include this in any plans .

Hi there, I think you should look at a site called Wilderness Survival. It has everything you need to know also get yourself a book called Food for free. I also watch alot of survival/ wilderness things on youtube and they cover just about everything you need to know. Good luck in your search
