Prepping with kids

Post by kentnewts »

Hi,
Was wondering how many of you are having to prep for kids too?!

We have 2, we have a boy of six and a girl of 13 months, our boy is easy to add preps for but our girl is where we're getting stuck, with nappies etc, she also has a rare blistering skin condition called EB so we need to have all her bandages, mess etc packed!

Just wondered if anyone else was prepping with a baby in mind and what prepping for them your doing

Hi mate, welcome to the forum :)

I think it was the arrival of my boy that started me 'proper' prepping. There is a limit to what you can do but they also seem to be the most important. Fortunately I guess youve moved beyond the milk stage though that was one of my focuses. For us we just ensured we always had a full can in reserve and a few cartobs of readyade. Chuck in a bottle of Milton and probl solved. Nappies were a bit harder but we decided to try reusables and got on quite well. We tend to use both now depending on what were up to. Might be worth getting a few of the simple terry ones to put by as they're not.overly expensive and have manyore uses too.

Ultimately it comes down to the question of how long you want to prep for. I've seen plengy of Americans saying they have stockpiled clothes on all sizes but for me and i expect most others that seemed a little impractical. Good luck with it :)

Thanks for info,
At mo she still has milk for bed but shes breast feed so that's not really a problem and we use reusable nappies too (the fitted type) my wife has an obsession with them :)

Just seems like she needs her own bag full of nappies and her meds! Lol

Hi a few of us on here have kids weither they are grandkids step kids or our own some with disabiltys some very small some very tall :) . With your girls medi care I would say see what you use in a week and then double it. The reson I say just double it is that at times it can seem quite scary trying to get every thing in the beginning, you can start small and then grow.
