No wonder disease spreads.
Recently my youngest son started nursery and contracted Hand, foot and mouth, (a viral infection) it wasnt serious. I had never heard of this so researched it, found out it was highly contagious, my sons nursery wouldnt let him back for over a week, until he had no symptoms (private nursery). My next youngest son caught it from his little brother, I telephoned his school, and was horrified to learn he had to go in, covered in spots, I kept him off anyway, the thought of him infecting everyone, plus the fact eating was painful for him made the fine worth it. I cant believe that attendance figures are more important than childrens health these days. In extreme cases hand foot and mouth can cause brain damage.

That is actually scary and TPTB have evidently got their head up their backsides. Its amazing all the things I will have to learn if I do get lucky enough to bring a child into this world.

Our son is 21, and contracted PVL positive Staph Aureus whilst scuba diving in Thailand (he had cuts on his legs from coral and hired wet suits, flippers etc and shared towels on the dive boat) despite ending up at hospital in Singapore on his way home it wasn't spotted until he was back at University 4-6 weeks later and after having abscesses dressed 3 times a week for a couple of weeks by the nurse at the GPs surgery . Noone seems to be bothered, we went to see our GP for advice and got swabbed on Wednesday, keeping our distance from family and friends until we get the results back.
