Hi all,
I live just off the M4 & work in the IT industry, I got involved in what could be called prepping a long time ago not long after I downsized into a new build house.
I found there was not enough storage space in the small kitchen for more than a couple of weeks food so started using the garage/workshop as a larder.
Not long after I had moved in a telephone line fault brought down the ATMs & card services in the area on the friday before the august bank holiday weekend.
I found out about it when I tried to pay for fuel in the local tesco, fortunately I had cash to pay for the fuel, however it caused a run on the cash machines over a 10 mile radius, this has made me less reliant on my cards & actually made me take stock of what I spend, as a result of that I opted out of being a consumer.
It was a chance disscussion in work with a known "oddball" that I found I was a "prepper", it seems other peole though I was an oddball also.!
I fix my own cars & motorbikes, have an interest in the outdoors and travelled around UK, Europe and Africa and thus have quite a bit of camping equipment so I've found I have been keeping a BOB for years without knowing.
once a boy scout ....etc
regards all.
