Hello Fellow preppers.
I'm from the East of England and I'm relatively new to all this. Thought I might join as its a great way to share ideas and also to learn new things about Prepping and survival. I joined after watching an American tv show about preppers. I find it fascinating. Im gonna have to start somewhere with Prepping. Any suggestions where to start would be a big help.
All the best.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
You have already started as you have joined this Site.
Firstly, take a big breath and relax, you don't have to get everything at once, check your cupboards and storage places. I bet you have more equipment than you think.
For example:
Water - in the tap/boiler/ jerrycans/bottles
Food - fresh/frozen/tinned/dehydrated
Shelter - house/caravan/car/tent/tarp/bivvy
I would catalogue all that you have and then go from there.
Hope that's a start.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
A good start would be doing an inventory of things you already have that might be good in an emergency eg wind up lantern, torches, camping stove - all good in a power cut. Rucksacks - great for building your BOB. This is just a start.
Then keep a record of everything you eat/use as a family over a month. Then think how much you need for 3 months. That's your target.
Do you grow your own veg? If not, take a look at your garden. Start seeing where you can grow some veg. What do you need to get started?
Take a step at a time, don't become overwhelmed by it all. You've made a start!!

Re: Hello fellow Preppers.
First of all, thank you for the warm welcome.
I think i'm gonna start by making some lists as recommended. See what i already have and what else i need. Im a very competent camper. I go most weekends and usually i'm away camping for most of the summer. Wether its in a tent, caravan or just roughing it up. I have quite allot of camping equipment already. Such as Tents, sleeping bag, stove, knives, boots warm clothes etc.
I currently live in the city however i'm fortunate enough to be in the process of moving to the country. Not everyones choice but I think it would be more secure and safe away from suburban areas for myself and my family. I suppose one argument would be that there is safety in numbers. Like in the cities. But for me living out in the sticks would be ideal.
We have a vegetable patch in our current home. Growing things like potatoes, runner beans, strawberry's, apples, lettuces, tomatoes. etc. Hopefully once moved, a Poly tunnel will be added to the garden to provide good fruit and veg all year round.
I think once i have my lists i'm going to work on my Bug Out Bags. Its defo a good start and and a handy bag to have if something does happen for me and my family to leave our home.
Advice much appreciated.

Hi, and welcome, I started prepping food, and moved on to other things as and when I saw bargains, and as I learned from others. I think prepping food is most pressing at the moment.

Re: Hello fellow Preppers.
I think the food prep will come once I have eventually moved. Got to put some study time into what keeps for long periods of time. I know the basic food groups. Rice, Beans, Tinned food, Wheat etc.. Would be nice to eventually get something to store a mass amount of water into to. Water butts, containers etc. Think im going to store a mass amount of salt to. I hate bland food. lol.jean405 wrote:Hi, and welcome, I started prepping food, and moved on to other things as and when I saw bargains, and as I learned from others. Also helps to prevent snow and ice forming. Ahh the many uses of salt.tigs wrote:sounds like you have made a good start , salt also helps preserve food not just makes it taste better
