One of the great things about sailing is the culture of self-reliance. At sea there is only you to solve the problem. Aside from sailing the boat I have learnt: navigation, comms, mechanics, provisioning, teamwork, leadership, electronics, weather, first aid away from help, survival, etc etc.

It's great

Welcome on board!
You are not the only one wirh a nautical inclination :D
Last year I did my Day Skipper, now I'm working on my Inland Waterways and, hopefully in July I will start with the equivalent of a RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate of Competence. It is all part of my prep.

Hi there. I spent a lot of my younger years on a boat. I'm told my first steps and first words were on my dads boat.

Would love to do day skipper but I always seem to be lacking something (time energy or money).
