I'd seriously look a trailers if I were you D. Some very good ones on the market, the one wheel jobs carry a good load and won't stop you filtering through traffic like a box or child trailer. You can even just dump a Vulcan bergan on one to fulfill NRs abandoning bike scenario.

I've yet to see a set of panniers that will accommodate a bumper bog roll pack for your shopping. :)

I've even seen one wheel jobs being used off road for some fairly serious tracks. A good option in my opinion!

Yup trailers are quite popular in Durham and York among some families, great for hauling groceries, babies, dogs or BOBS.

This should give an idea of what you could aim for.

Thankfully that is true. If I tried, I think I would have a complete prolapse, not just piles!!

I've just got myself a "new" bicycle.

It's my Dad's old mountain bike, circa sometime in the 90s. Nice and sturdy diamond frame, cantilever brakes, 15 speed (a little too much IMO but beggars can't be choosers), 26" wheels, hybrid tires (good for on and off road).

I'm planning to fit racks both front and back, get some lights, and give it a more subdued Krylon paint job. Possible upgrades in the future include an Xtracycle FreeRadical Kit or a trailer.

Its a Devinci Hucker fitted with DMR pedals, rack and high power lamp. I can fix everything myself, no need for fuel (besides food in my belly, and some electric for the lights, which I have a solar charger for)
