Hi, for the last 12 months I've been compelled to keep a constant eye on world affairs - the future doesn't look rosy. It has made me realise that most folk aren't even prepared for the slightest interruption to everyday life. I now find myself thinking 'what if?' all the time. So I have begun to make little changes that are starting to make me feel more confident should TSHTF. My family will be comfortable (at least for a while) and a solution to the most obvious problems has been thought out. We take too much for granted - it only takes the bin men to take a couple of bank holidays off over xmas to cause major disruption ! Imagine if they took a couple of months!
I don't intend to throw a lot of money into my plan initially but I have considered there may come a time to spend quickly and I have already done some research on which items to aquire.
I must say I feel that I am pretty much keeping my prepping a secret as I know most folk would consider me to be over cautious (possibly mad). Having looked at some topics on the site I see that you guys are discussing plenty of sensible ideas so I decided to join you and share what I can.
