Hi all.
Just a short note to introduce myself. I am a recent convert to the 'prepping' game, after being introduced to the books of J.Wesley.Rawles and Cory Lundin by a friend. I suspect like others I grew tired of reading information from an American point of view, with little or no relevance to our British perspective.
I am from Yorkshire, and married, but without children. In many ways this makes things easier. My wife is still to be converted to the idea, indeed we have spoken little about it, though she is a confident, experienced climber/mountaineer who has put up first ascents in the 'greater ranges'. In many respects we were prepared for a great deal before the idea of this really came into being for me. I used to be a soldier, and have travelled a great deal, though now I am grounded in one place. I live in York, but I am working within the premise that the maintenance of human life within an urban environment of any size in a 'grid down' situation is next to impossible. I think one of the biggest threats that currently exist is that of economic upheaval leading to social unrest in a number of states across Europe (however I tend to keep an open mind...). We are currently in the middle of relocating to Cumbria for work reasons. Prepping-wise, I am currently developing plans for extra-urban relocation and the equipment/supplies/locations needed.
----------------------------
Quick errata... I am also starting a (dare I say it) blog, which I intend to keep up, looking at the prepping side of things... Perhaps check it out. I shall link to it later...
----------------------------
There you go, a little about me. A touch on the dry side, but I'm being good in polite company...
