The more I look into thias the more i feel uneasy as everything is so interconnected and is so fragile.
Would you stay in house or go to avoid others.? would the act of moving put you at risk.?? Stay hidden??
If I could feed my family for 3 months and stay hidden then surely the population would be slashed through starvation etc etc. would i be safe to come out/ start scavenging.

what about people with guns . I know 3 people with rifles and more with shotguns would they survive just by taking from others? Stay away from people or club together
There are so many pros and cons with everything.

I shall start by building up some good camo clothing and long term food stores then look into transport, weapons, trading etc.

Food and water is a good place to start. Bottled water, waterbutts and some kind of water purification system, like a british berkefeld water filter. Another way of cooking (camping stove?) and alternative sources of lighting - torches and wind-up lanterns. FIrst-aid items, soap, hygiene products, contraceptives, prescription medication. How will you go to the toilet? I have a couple of lidded buckets and some woodshavings and diatomaceous earth, which would do in the short-term, but the long-term I haven't worked out yet.

It's really easy to go overboard when you start prepping (I speak from experience!) and start buying all kinds of odd things. I'm sure others will agree about that!

Start basic and build from there.

Too right we do, but we learn from those early mistakes, well sometimes we do, and also try to pass those experiences on to others, some take the advice, others don't.

Nowadays I get a bit more selective and buy higher spec stuff if possible, and also multiple purchases of similar items, Lanterns, cookers etc.

I would look more into the long term food stores and trading before guns and camo, transport isn't an easy one, unless going for futuristic stuff like pushbikes and trailers ;)
