My local market has a 'Dickies' outlet. If you have a Lidl or Aldi they (occasionally) have good STWs for about a tenner.

IMHO, I'd go for wellies with steel toe caps. If you are chopping wood or gardening or building and you do have an accident well, if you are wearing non steel toe caps you'll very quickly come round to my opinion!
