Welcome.
So long as you are doing it rationally, you know what you are preparing for and you stick with it, i am sure that you will be fine.

That's a very good attitude.

I have noticed that preparedness has become an industry and some people seem to want to sell paranoia as opposed to down to earth preparedness. Selling paranoia might be good for business (theirs!!), but won't necessarily help if the thing that they are trying to get everyone paranoid about doesn't happen.

I have taken the attitude that if X doesn't happen, can the preps be used for something else and if so what?

For me, its maybe a few days or weeks off sick or with no money coming in. I am self employed and I want to make sure that if either my agencies stop working or I can't work due to health problems or any other little problem comes up I can still eat.

Everything else has become a bit of a hobby and potentially useful (like learning the slingshot as a skill, something i am enjoying immensely!).
