Just ran out of Covid tea.....

Morrisons it is then.... surprised to see it at 82p for 80 bags :o

I bulk bought mine when it was 49p

10 boxes to start with  that filled a 20 litre storage box once decanted from the cardboard.

I've been picking up a couple of extra tins or packs and dropping them in the Food bank collection box.
This week oats, last week tinned spuds, week before mackerel..... Its not much but it helps

Stocked up on wet wipes should the water supply vanish. :tinfoil

That and a bird bath wash with water from the waterbutts should keep me going

Collected the food grade IBC and cleaned it out. Ordered the drainpipe diverter and decided to get the rainwater from the slate roof on the garage rather than the felt roof on the shed so no stone chips and apparently avoids any bitumen contamination. Bought the breeze blocks to stand it on which will be tomorrows job and will order the cover later tonight. Made homemade crumpets on the hob, I want to get the method perfected so that I could make them on the wood burner on the griddle if needed, they are such a comfort food.

Pull up a sandbag and let me tell you tall tales how we used to cook breakfast, make a brew and wash and shave out of a Mess tin.....

Before my diabetes I used to love staffordshire oatcakes cooked over an open flame.

Thinking of buying a new black IBC and filling it with fresh water as a fill and forget storage means...

OH suggested a ‘big shop’ today 😁 so off I went. Going to go again tomorrow - restock some tins and household products. He based the decision on the whispers around possible truckers strikes over diesel prices. I can’t find anything sold in this but doesn’t hurt to have a few extra things in the stocks.
Plus also picked up some rechargeable small round lights and some battery motion sensor lights for inside.

Thought I might as well order some stuff out of next month's spending, seeing as I'm not well (just a cold), so not going anywhere. Some plants and a new front bike tyre. Coughing a lot today. Bought some honey and lemon to make drinks.

Was grateful for my first aid kit tonight. Cooked a nice bit of (yellow sticker) beef for tea and as I pulled the roasting tray out of the oven it slipped and the liquid poured over my foot. Had my Magnum boots on and not barefoot thank goodness but the liquid seeped through the tongue and my sock, threw the boots off stuck my foot in some cold water and then put a burns dressing on. Hopefully, it wont be too bad tomorrow, still a little painful but may not be able to get any footwear on. Will stock up on more burns dressings now too.
