Had a sparky round. Oh Boy this is going to sting.....

It transpires that my CU isn't really up to the job.

I await the 'quote' but looking at the wrong side of a grand!!!!!
Another Day: Another Sparky.

A New suggestion: Just install a small secondary CU for the inverter spur and do the whole CU upgrade malarky at some other time, or never? That would save a mint in the short term and have my solar up and running pretty soon.

Now grab that sparky with both hands and ensure you give him as much tea as you can make and break out the branded biscuits...... And pay him the second he finishes the job and gives you the paperwork

Keep them sweet he? Is not obviously out to gouge you of every penny he can
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

I eagerly await quotes and timescales. But, yes. I was impressed by his honesty. Both guys seemed honest, but this one was on my wavelength.

Another Sparky to size it up. LOL. I thought the 'sharp intake of breath' was just a saying!

"Solar, Missus?! I don't do solar. Don't touch it.".
I explained that he needn't touch anything solar, just get a direct connection near to my inverter.

Sharp intake of breath. . .
Lol.
Awaiting the quote, but not expecting success.
