Fairly repetitive routine:-
Breakfast, cereals or a few biscuits or some fruit
Lunches always light, such as teacakes, crumpets, scones, toast or 'packed lunch'

Monday: Wing it with something light, such as teacakes for brunch, random light evening meal, usually featuring eggs.
Tuesday: Chip night with some fish or meat product or pie from the freezer.
Wednesday: Packed Lunch or meal deal at work. Evening: one of the batch cooked meals from the freezer.
Thursday: Light lunch at the supermarket. For Tea, Something with spuds, mash or a pasta or rice meal with cooking sauce and usually chicken or mince.
Friday: Leftovers or something done with a pork steak. Or a stock rotating prepper meal.
Saturday: Stirfry or wraps or something with bread.
Sunday: Substantial meat and two veg.

We buy little fresh fruit or veg and waste none. We don't have the classic healthy diet, but we are not in bad shape.

We'd be likely to maintain a similar routine in bad times, just pivoting to long life equivalents.
Husband no longer eats breakfast, I take some cashews and walnuts to work. We both take a packed lunch, him sandwiches, banana, yoghurt with cake or biscuits, me salad with cottage cheese or tinned fish/chicken. Tea for us is often meat based, spag bol, chicken, chilli or something I have made and frozen such as pie or a substantial soup or scotch broth. Two days a week we have my Dad who refuses to eat anything which is not meat and two veg based and Sundays have to be a roast and he always has to have a pudding which is normally apple pie, sponge pudding, rice pudding etc. Costs us a fortune as I send him home with food too, but he is worth every penny. We do not waste food here, I enjoy cooking and baking and can make a pretty good meal out of not much. We went to a steam fair recently, husband has a very sweet tooth and was tempted by the flapjacks at £2.50 a slice. I had a bit of a hissy fit and told him that the flapjack I had made the week before cost not much more than than that for a full tray.
Growing old disgracefully!

Interesting. I buy a cauliflower, broccoli and carrots fresh, plus I have frozen peas and sweetcorn. So when I do, I'm eating all that for about a week, with vegetarian low salt gravy, and some kind of Quorn or Plant Pioneers burger, or occasionally frozen salmon, if I have some.

Then after the cauliflower etc is used up, I go onto other stuff, which mostly involves using preps. Either long life curry for 2 nights, or I batch cook pasta sauce. With that I'll have one, put one in the fridge, and 2 or 3 in the freezer drawer. Also I occasionally batch cook baked beans for lunches, but I don't have room in the freezer for both.

Also I'lll probably have pizza one night. I also buy fresh mushrooms, which I put on the pizza, which is usually just plain cheese.

We don't as such have a meal plan , not the sort of pasta every monday , sausage on tuesdays and so on , it's more whatever my wife rustles up ( not being sexist it's just that for most days she's home before me ) . One thing that we have regularly is broccoli , if it were to die out that probably would be the end of the world for MrsG . We have it with pasta , pizza anything really and she also makes some into soup. Again food in this type of thing depends to a degree on the type of event. If there's a loss of power then anything that can be eaten cold or with the minimum of cooking could be advantageous , something more calorie packed for winter and if the situation is liable to extend then careful husbanding of fuel would also be something to consider. Another lock down style pandemic might see us relatively inactive so we'd need fewer calories but might need to keep an eye on eating because of boredom ...

This is why I mainly store pasta, tuna and tomato puree. All I really need is some boiled water. I can do the pasta in a flask. I've gone back to cooking it on the hob when I have it, but I still have the flask. It's a short wide one, made for food. All steel Thermos brand. Also I have twig stoves in case gas and meths run out. I need to get more meths, as I used a load decorating, but I wouldn't use a Trangia indoors anyway. I don't have loads of gas, so maybe I'll get another 6 canisters sometime. I have a few medium to large ones. These are the backpacking style ones.

Dispensing with the boiling water I can remember just sucking a piece of pasta when I was younger . Looking back I do wonder why as it's pretty tasteless...
