Prepping multiple locations.
Re: Prepping multiple locations.
Something that's often over looked is swap the car for a off road style motorbike. If the SHTF no-one is going to bother if it's road legal. But, you could shorten route to preferred place. Plus, you could have a set up where you then strip the bike of the parts leaving a engine, gearbox and the drive to use as a spare generator.

This is agreat thread.
If these extreme weather conditions continue then to have a northern bug out loaction for hot summers and a southern location for extreme cold winters sounds like a plan.

What is the distance between your two properties Woodcutter?
Can you hike it in a reasonable period of time or do you need to use a vehicle?
Would you be up the hike physically?
We had the "two property" problem a few years back and the deciding factor for us was the people who we would want around us should a SHTF situation arise.

Woodcutter is long gone mate, unless he's back in a 'son of, the return of, the revenge of' form.Arwen Thebard wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:27 pm What is the distance between your two properties Woodcutter?
