Hello from Stockport

Post by cavealaska »

hello all, I am from Stockport just outside Manchester. I am ex military into survival and prepping. I spent a lot of time out in Alaska, and Canada (BC and Yukon) have a lot of friends out there that live of the grid, and hopefully one day I will be able to do the same over here. I grown food in my garden and do a lot of canning. I look forward to chatting to you all.

Hi! I'm in Manchester, probably about 5 or 6 miles away from you. I'm trying to grow my own food, and I have three hens, but one is very sick at the moment. I have an interest in wild foods and am just going to try to set up a bit on my allotment where I can grow native herbs for food or medicinal use (I'm a beginner though and will have to learn as I go along).

That's so interesting - I live near Selkirk - the original one. Some far-travelled Soutar in the old days must've got to the YUkon and founded a town. Fabulous. Bet he could teach us a hell of a lot about surviving!
