I have been interested in emergencies since 2002 when my son needed a quite severe operation i filled up the freezer and through a power cut lost it all, i then turned to some serious preparing, i had very little money really until 2009 when i really got organised, moved from up north and got some shelving, alternative heat and cooking ways filters for water and have really gone from there, i really try to specialise in cooking and baking from storage

Hullo from the Highlands.
I sympathise with the freezer food loss, it`s one of my main worries and another reason I`m looking at alternative ways of food storage beyond canning, which requires expensive equipment I can`t afford.
