I tend to stay away from cargo pants and likes of coz they just dont fit me well, I'm not small by any means, I'm 5ft 9 my legs are skinny! but I've got a 38 hip I'd take off in the wind in pair of them  but to be honest, I never tried too hard to find a pair that fit, but the ones I've tried were way to big on the leg, but the pockets would be very handy. It's some thing I need to pay more attention to when buying clothes.

Absolutely. I'd suggest camping out with it and see what you actually use/need/can carry.

If I was camping out which I have no intention of less the shtf and I have to get out of dodge, I would be taking a very different BOB with me, thats just what I chuck in the car, along with what I carry in my hand bag, incase I can't get home for a night and I have to stay in or near my car , which would never happen, coz I'm never far from home, I'd walk if I had to. But I do need a good jacket with lots of pockets.

I can carry it, but it is heavy, but it's a BOB for 2 people!

Sorry, going a bit off topic here. I'm not experienced enough yet to comment on your list, I just know from my outdoor trips that I tend to overpack. However, as it's for your car I suppose weight doesn't really matter. It's something I have to consider because I am either walking or on a bike. I can carry 1/3 my weight for a while, but would have to cut that down for longer trips.
I have thought about making a small pannier style rucksack for my dog to help me out 8-)

And, yeah you can never have too many pockets

I think the best thing anyone can do, is like NR said, assume you won't have a ur BOB and have as much on your person as possible, I have a child to think off , so I live in hope that I'l be able to take and keep as much stuff as possible, so weight does matter, but theres nothing much I can do about it, cept carry it :)

it also worth adding some unflavored condoms as they are quick water storage and take up a small space.

I plan for her to have another bag with food and stuff in it, no doubt the bags will be packed and unpacked many times before I'm happy. I need a bigger bag and a new tent, my tent is 2 big! need a 2man pop out, but I'm trying to plan for all events, one bag is good for a night, the other good to stick in the boot, big tent would be great cover if I couldn't go home and it became my home so id like to be able to carry it, the mind boggles some times! :) but I will get it all worked out sooner or later.
